Pre-Race Soiree at Dainese
Another elegant, fun party, Italian style, at D-Store SF at 131 S. Van Ness. This one hosted with Mazda Laguna Raceway, had a steady two-hour line of autograph seekers for Jorge Lorenzo, and a crowd around Valentino Rossi’s bike.
The VIP party followed at 7 with delicious pizzas from a mobile wood-burning pizza oven brought by Hot Italian Pizza & Panini Bar (and Motors & Gear) from Sacramento. Bill Patterson, official artist of Mazda Raceway, painted a picture of Lorenzo live, in front of the rapt crowd of race enthusiasts (including the owner of Carmel restaurant Porta Bella). GP racer Loris Reggiani was in attendance, along with the Italian consulate. Mazda raceway girls, Kimberly and Stephanie, posed for pics. GM Shelli Bohrer did it again.

Lane Sharing in California
By Motorman 4 Life
Our main motocop nut happens to be a moderator on Bay Area Riders Forum (BARF), the best moto forum online. If you don’t know it, go check it out, it’s awesome. A big thanks to BARF and Motorman 4 Life for the info. The forum’s topic is “Lane sharing and its legality” and is printed below, expertly written by this California motocop (18+years) and fellow street rider.
Motorman 4 Life: For those that don’t know, I am a huge proponent of lane sharing and it is worth noting that some states that have previously BANNED the practice are now considering making it LEGAL to help relieve heavy traffic and congestion The simple answer is…if someone says it is illegal, please ask them to show you where it says lane sharing is prohibited, outlawed or even discouraged in the vehicle code.
It’s not.

MODS 'n Rockers Annual Smoke Out
The distant buzzing noise soon became a loud roar when 170 scooters and motorcycles turned the corner invading the Stockton Tunnel in San Francisco at exactly 3pm on some random day in May, like they do every year, unannounced and unrecognizable. If we were to name names or publicize the event, they'd kill us! The moto-hoodlums rode up and down both lanes numerous times, filling the tunnel with smoke and noise. Riders stopped traffic at both ends of the tunnel while the fuckers had their fun, then five minutes later, as sudenly as they appeared, they were gone.
