APRILIA RECALLS ALL U.S. RSV4s
Date: Jan.26.2010
Aprilia is voluntarily recalling all of the RSV4 superbikes sold in America to add to the ones from the rest of the world already under recall. It’s understood that almost 300 bikes across the world are affected in the recall. The move follows conrod failures on a handful of bikes during the launch of the RSV4R - later attributed to a faulty batch of conrods from an outside supplier. Piaggio Group spokesman Phil Read, “This is purely a precautionary measure – we haven’t had a single complaint, but we are not a manufacturer that waits until a failure occurs before taking positive action ... I hope this demonstrates Aprilia truly cares about our family of customers so we’re replacing the whole engine at our expense.”
